Welcome to the brand-new website for APECS SA! We aim to enhance the communication and interaction, collaboration and engagement amongst students and emerging researchers within the South African polar research community.

Our vision is to:

  • To facilitate improved communication between young polar researchers and available opportunities on local and international level.
  • To provide opportunity for skill development and transfer between young and established researchers, both locally and internationally.
  • To increase exposure of young researchers to both local and international science practice and advancement.
  • To create opportunities for inter-disciplinary networking and exposure for a sustainable approach to polar research.
